He used to see his wrestling fight with his father in his childhood but he wasn’t interested in wrestling at that time. He liked football so much and he wanted to make a career in football during his childhood. At the time of his 11th admission, his father's job was transferred to Bethlehem Pennsylvania. Therefrom school Freedom High School he started to play football as well as started to participate in wrestling also. Slowly he became a nice football player therefore, he used to get many offers from university. Finally, he got a scholarship from the University of Miami where he used to play as the position of a defensive tackle.
In 1951 he was a member of the National Championship Team of the University of Miami. After this, he played as a professional from the Canadian Football League. Because of his injury, he was out of the team for some months. After having many injuries he thought of leaving a football career.
